We’re extremely pleased that our Brompton Junction store in Singapore has been shortlisted for a Design Week award.
Shortlisted in the Retail Interiors category, the project represents a breakaway from traditional bike shops with focus on design, brand experience and product. The new retail space, which also acts as a community hub allowing for local enthusiasts to grab a coffee before a ride out, incorporates a workshop, heritage graphics, a test road and digital displays to help bring the Brompton brand to life.
Founder and Creative Director, Ken Wingate comments – “Traditional retail needs to evolve. It’s turned very flat in recent years with little emphasis on design, brand experience or the products which are being sold. The Brompton store goes against everything modern retail stands for and I’m really happy that it’s been recognised by the Design Week judges; full credit goes to Simon Rosenburg and his team at Brompton for being so bold.”
Founded in 1975 and pioneers of the folding bicycle, Brompton have become a key mode of transport for the city commuter who now produce over 40,000 bikes a year.
